The last few months of 2011 and the first semester of my Senior year I sort of slacked off and it resulted in me having to work extra hard to just barely pass, this second semester I'm going to:
1. I am going to make it a priority to get all my work in and ON TIME, doing
this will bring me a lot less stress and more time to have fun and relax my last semester,
2. I am going to make a stronger effort on my work, take more pride in my projects, doing
this will make my grades a lot better and make me feel better about my work.
3. I am going to come to school everyday and try not to be tardy, dealing with making up
hours last semester was hard enough.
Making and effort to do these things will make the rest of my Senior year very relaxed
and fun!

Reflections of a Second grade intern.
Walking into a classroom as a guest and not knowing any of the students or the teacher can be an extremely awkward and give you a weird feeling, four months ago I had that exact feeling. Being in Mrs. Hooper’s second grade class has been a whirlwind of different emotions. Looking back on how much I have changed from four months until now is crazy! I have learned so much and have gained a lot of knowledge on what to do and how to handle certain situations.
For an example, I have learned that you cannot let your students over rule your classroom, even if you do not like to take command and be firm with your students you have to because if you don’t they will take advantage of the situation. A few times in the classroom this year my kids have been louder than me and I didn’t gain the courage to speak over them, but now I see that it is essential.
Getting on to a difficult child is also hard, you have to know how to correctly punish them and make sure that they know what they have done wrong. A child in my classroom is known to behave and has a hard time ceasing the things he’s doing wrong. I have learned that every student has a background and usually has a reason to why they act out. I have been getting close to this student and I have found out reasons why he acts how he does and I handle his issues privately and correctly. He has been behaving better for me now.
Teaching in Mrs. Hooper’s second grade class has been a blast so far and it is going by so quickly, I still have a lot to learn and am excited to gain more knowledge on how to teach young students.

The Ideal Classroom
After reading the article, Lewisville ISD trades rows of desks for sofas, it made me think about how I would structure my own classroom. I would have it decorated very colorful and with bright colors, to keep the students awake, I would arrange my desks in rows and have them facing the board, i would have a chalk board instead of a dry erase board. I would just make the room relatable to them.
